With HTML 5 and other advancement in the field of Web designing and development now a website is not just your online presence on the internet but website (if properly used) is more powerful than your sales team in your office who are making lot of bucks out of the company and providing a lesser ROI.
Few days back I had a talk with one of the Search Engine Optimizer who is in the field for years and we discussed one of the important parts of the website from the user perspective that is Usability.
What is Usability?
Usability of a Website is not just about making sure that everything in the website is working fine and there are no 404 error available but it’s more about how quickly and easily visitors are able to make use of the website.Usability is one of the main concerns of Internet marketers and SEOs because of its direct impact on conversion rates, which in turn affect profitability of any online business.
Reasons why you need to Re-design your website:
Non-Professional Look:
Might be most of the readers and web designers didn’t find this as a valid point but in my eye it is and I really keep this thing in mind while designing a website for our clients. This is the era of Internet and more people are spending time on internet, in-short visitors are smart and now they fairly can understands the reputation of the company by their website looks. A professional and pleasant look can be the very first thing that helps visitor to stay on the website.
If you gone through the definition of usability, you must had a clear idea of what I mean from this point. Customers are smart they have choices and just by pressing a one enter they will be at your competitors website. Make website for your customers and make it as easy as you can for them. The best practice we do for our client in our company is we upload the website on local server and then send the link to different people in the company so that they can check the website from the user perspective.
No Interaction:
Interaction is the key. You may seriously need to think about redesigning your website if you didn’t have the point of interaction with your customers. The most common and successful tool for interacting with the clients in a professional way is Blog. Blog is the place where you can talk to clients in general and show how much you love and respect them.
Are you Social?
With the boom of internet and social media’s now this is a very serious question, are you social? If yes your website should reflect this. You may need to redesign your website and allow user to follow you on social media’s and can easily like or share any of your website page to their circle of friends on Internet.
Search Engine Friendly?
Are you Search engine friendly? If not, then you must need a re-design for your website. A non search engine friendly is like death of your online business. According to a report 75+ % of the traffic on the website comes from search engine and most of them are potential buyers/customers. A Search Engine friendly website contains many steps but few of the common and important parts are unique title for every page, unique description on every page, Alt name on Images and others…
Bonus…
It’s Still a New Year:
I believe it’s still a New Year and business are still planning for the new year this is the time to re-design and give a new, unique and more professional look to your potential customers.
Re-designing is not only to give a new impression to your clients but it attracts more potential visitors that open more doors of business online.
